Penn State Football: Paterno Mum On Saturday's Starting QB
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- The quarterback derby still isn't over at Penn State.
Coach Joe Paterno today declined to name a starter for Saturday's season opener against Indiana State, other than saying that both Rob Bolden and Matt McGloin would play.
Paterno said it didn't make a difference which quarterback started -- that the position isn't one of his concerns right now.
Paterno, 84, walked into the Beaver Stadium media room today with a cane. He said he's feeling better since accidentally getting leveled in practice three weeks ago by a receiver, though it was "50-50" on whether he would be on the sideline this Saturday.
The hit injured Paterno's shoulder and pelvis. He wants to be on the sideline, but his doctors are urging caution.
