Penn State Community Mourns The Loss Of Long-Time Radio Voice Fran Fisher

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (CBS) -- Long-time Penn State broadcaster Fran Fisher passed away on Wednesday night at the age of 91. The Penn State community is mourning the loss of the voice of some of the school's greatest sporting moments.

Fisher joined the Penn State Football Radio Network in 1966. Fisher was the voice behind some of the school's brightest football moments, including their victory in the 1983 Sugar Bowl, Penn State's first National Title.

Fisher's broadcasting career ended in 1999, but he maintained a close connection to the university and the football program.

His son, Jerry Fisher, followed in his footsteps and has been the long-time radio voice for Penn State Women's Basketball.

Fisher also had a close relationship with current football coach James Franklin.
