Pemberton, NJ Church Official Charged With Sexually Assaulting Girl During Service
PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – A 59-year-old man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a girl during a church service on Sunday morning.
Joseph V. Pullen Jr., of Whispering Pines Boulevard in Pemberton Township, allegedly assaulted the girl during Sunday service at Calvary Baptist Church on July 8. Pullen, a deacon at the church, was alone with the victim at the time of the assault. Further investigation revealed that Pullen had assaulted the same victim during the fall of 2011.
Joseph Pullen was taken into custody on Friday morning. He is charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault (First Degree) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Third Degree) and related offenses.
Pullen's bail is set at $250,000. He is set to appear in court on Friday afternoon.
