Pedestrian Struck, Killed By SEPTA Train Near Philmont Station

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- SEPTA and Philadelphia police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident near SEPTA's outbound Philmont train station Wednesday morning.
Authorities say that shortly before 7:30 a.m., a pedestrian crossed in front of an approaching SEPTA west Trenton commuter train and was struck.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified as a 56-year-old man, but his name was not immediately released.
Outbound west Trenton trains were delayed by nearly an hour after the incident.
The deadly incident remains under investigation.
