Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Delaware
NEWPORT, Del. (AP) — Delaware State Police are investigating a collision in Newport that killed a pedestrian.
It happened shortly before noon Thursday on southbound State Route 141, at Interstate 95.
Police say Stephen E. Webb, of Arcanum, Ohio, exited a tractor trailer that was parked on the road's right shoulder. He was struck and killed by a Buick LeSabre that was heading south. Webb died at the scene.
The driver of the Buick, identified as 24-year-old Francis Witz Jr., of Wilmington, was not injured and had not been charged as of early Friday morning.
