PECO Making Progress Restoring Power For Bucks And Montgomery County Customers

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - While progress continues in the struggle to restore power, still tens of thousands of customers in the Delaware Valley remain in the dark.
PECO says they have restored power to more than 90-percent of people who lost power during Sandy, but still about 50,000 outages remain.
The majority is still in Bucks County where 30,000 customers are without service. Most of those outages are in the areas of Bristol, Lower Makefield, Upper Makefield and Solebury Townships....
In Montgomery County, about 15,000 customers are still without power. The majority of outages there remain in Cheltenham, Abington, Upper Moreland, Lower Merion and Plymouth Township.
PECO says only scattered outages remain in Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia Counties.
Utility spokeswoman Karen Muldoon Gues says most lights should be back on by the end of the day Sunday, but some lingering outages will remain into early next week.
Atlantic City Electric is reporting more than 14,000 remaining outages. The majority of those are in the area of Atlantic City and the Barrier Islands.
PSE&G is still reporting about 15,000 outages in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties. They warn restoration could still be a few days away for many of their customers.
