Paul Strand At The Philadelphia Museum Of Art
By R.J. McKay
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Paul Strand exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art is running now through January 4th.
"Paul Strand is one of the greatest photographers of the 20th century, and he is really one of the most important American artists in any medium from that time. He was a pioneer around 1915 in exploring modern ideas in photography, making abstract photographs," explains Peter Barberie, Brodsky Curator of Photographs at the museum.
"One really important goal of our exhibition is to show people how great his later work is, and how important that work is alongside his early great masterpieces," Barberie adds.
