Paterno The Horse Wins Its First Race
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Joe Paterno's wins from 1998 until 2011 as head coach of the Penn State football team were erased from the record books when the NCAA unleashed its unprecedented sanctions on the school. A horse is doing its part to add some wins back to the Paterno name.
Paterno, a three year-old race horse named for the deceased coach, won its first race in its fourth career start on June 10th at Parx Racetrack in Bucks County.
Penn State vacated 112 wins due to the NCAA sanctions, 111 of those were coached by Paterno.
