PATCO Trains Resume Service In South Jersey
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) -- The PATCO trains between Philadelphia and New Jersey have resumed service in time for rush hour after being shut down following this afternoon's earthquake.
Delaware River Port Authority spokesman Ed Kasuba says the commuter rail line was halted around 2:10 p.m. -- about 15 minutes after the quake rattled the region. He says inspectors found no signs of damage.
Other New Jersey rail lines are operating as usual. New Jersey Transit stopped trains briefly and is cross-honoring bus passes.
The PATH trains between northern New Jersey and New York City are running as normal.
Amtrak says its Northeast Corridor trains are running at normal speed between Baltimore and Boston, but are operating at reduced speeds farther south while inspectors check for possible damage from the quake.
