Pat Ciarrocchi Is First Female TV Anchor Name To State Broadcasters Hall Of Fame
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Emmy-winner Pat Ciarrocchi, CBS 3's longtime anchor, reporter and host, will be inducted into Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame this Sunday, May 4 at a special dinner at the Hotel Hershey in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Ciarrocchi will be the first female TV news anchor among the women who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Ciarrocchi joined CBS 3 in 1982. Throughout her career she has excelled at a number of assignments at the station from morning news anchor, medical reporter, host of Evening Magazine to Vatican reporter and her current assignment as co-host with Ukee Washington of Talk Philly, CBS 3′s Emmy Award-winning news and lifestyle program.

Ciarrocchi is a double winner this weekend. She will also be recognized with a PAB award for Outstanding TV Feature story. In addition to her honors, the PAB will be naming former U.S Ambassador to Ireland and Chairman of the Pittsburgh Steelers Dan Rooney as its 2014 Gold Medal Honoree. Bill Cowher, analyst for CBS Sports' studio show The NFL Today, will be named Broadcaster of the Year. Jim Gardner, longtime WPVI-TV anchor in Philadelphia, is also being inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame this year.
Ciarrocchi began her career in broadcasting in 1974 at WAMS Radio in Wilmington and later at WDEL Radio. Before returning home to Philadelphia, Ciarrocchi was anchor/reporter/producer for WHAG-TV in Hagerstown, Maryland for three years.
A Philadelphia area native, Ciarrocchi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Rosemont College. In 2006, she was presented with the college's highest honor, the Cresset Award. Ciarrocchi currently resides in Merion, Pennsylvania with her husband, David Fineman.
