Buildings Designated Unsafe After Partial Collapse in West Oak Lane, City Spokesperson Says
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Two homes that partially collapsed in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane section Wednesday morning have been designated unsafe, a city spokesperson tells CBS3. Emergency crews were called to the area of Tulpehocken Street between Lowber and Woolston Avenues around 6:30 a.m.
"The Department of Licenses and Inspections' investigation is ongoing, but at this stage, there are no permits for work at the location and there does not appear to be any ongoing work at this time. The properties have been designated unsafe," a city spokesperson said.
Firefighters say no one was inside at the time.
The spokesperson tells CBS3 that building residents are permitted in the properties to remove their belongings.
An investigation is ongoing.
