Parents On Edge After Reports Of Suspicious Vehicles Near School Playground

RADNOR TWP., Pa. (CBS) - Radnor Township Police say two strange incidents are causing concerns near St. Katharine of Siena Elementary School in the Wayne Section of Radnor Township.
Police were informed by school administrators Thursday that on Monday a 10-year-old girl observed a white, older model ford Econoline van parked across the street from the school yard.
"There were several children playing in the school yard at the time," said Lt. Andy Block of the Radnor Township Police Department. "The individual, described as a white male in his early 20's, was taking pictures with his smartphone camera of the children that were in the school yard."
While police were at the school learning about the incident, a seven-year-old told administrators at 8:30 a.m. Thursday he'd seen an alarming sight in light blue work van parked across the street.
"What drew his attention to this van was he observed a male sitting in the van with a black ski mask on," said Lt. Block.
The man then drove away.
Police aren't sure if the incidents are related, but want all parents, at St. Katherine's and other area schools to remain on the lookout.
"It is terrifying, it's every parent's worst nightmare to think that there's an unsafe person, a predator, looking at children," said Dana Ott, who lives in the area.
