Parents Of Young Children Are Heavier Than Non-Parents

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Are you a parent and struggling with weight loss? Well, University of Minnesota researchers say you have someone to blame.
Researchers found mothers of young children were heavier and ate more calories, fatty foods, and sugary drinks than women without children. This applies to both mom and dad. Both parents were less active than those of the same age without children.
The study I am referring to was not a small one. There were over 1,500 adults with children younger than five.
Many parents purchase not so healthy foods when they have young kids at home.
The other problem is that it is more difficult to exercise because of parental demands and fatigue. It can be a tough cycle to escape.
