Parents Continue Search For Son's Killer
By Steve Tawa
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A mom and dad who lost their son in a deadly robbery last month in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia returned to the crime scene to put up more reward signs on street furniture, in an effort to find his killer.
Accompanied by a homicide detective and stopping at a brick wall near 4th and Lombard Streets, Michael and Carol Hagan displayed the grief that has yet to subside since their 32-year-old son, Michael, was gunned down.
"This is where it took place, right here," said Michael.
"He was shot once in the chest, robbed, and left to die on the sidewalk," Carol recalled.
The Hagan's have put up $20,000 to match the city's $20,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the murder. Carol hopes someone might come forward with surveillance video from July 1st at 3 a.m.
"We're looking to see if anybody that night saw anything."
"He bought a house in Fishtown," Michael said. "He and I redid the house. He loved the city."
And Carol said, "He's 32, a young professional, worked at Grant Thorton down on Market Street. He loved life.'
Anyone with information should call Philadelphia Police or the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS.
