UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) - The Llanerch Diner in Upper Darby, Pa. hosted an Oscar Viewing Party Sunday night, hoping to see Silver Linings Playbook bring home some Oscar Gold.
The film was nominated in eight different categories, but only won one of them (see the complete list of Oscar winners). Jennifer Lawrence earned an Oscar for Best Actress, but that didn't stop people at the Llanerch from having a good time.
Some people were in evening gowns and suits, while others wore their track suit complete with black trash bag to shed some pounds while they partied. The crowd would scream and shout every time Silver Linings Playbook came on the screen.
Ibrahim Sayed played the extra "Indian Invasion" in the movie. He says working on the film did touch home with him, not just because of the scenary:
"It's a one-of-a-kind movie that people really need to understand what it's all about, mental illness."
George is a waiter at the Llanerch who was an extra in the movie. He says he's now thinking of a change in careers:
"I liked it. I really wanted to see how it was done, you know? It was really very interesting how many takes just to do one little part."
Others say the movie has earned a place in it's heart, just because it was filmed in town, omething they would like to see more of in the future..
"From the main-line, from Upper Darby, from Havertown, because it's a beautiful area and this is where they should make more movies," this woman said.
