Pa. Man Facing Child Porn Charges Threatens Investigative Agent With Rape And Murder
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man is set for sentencing on charges he possessed child pornography — then threatened to have a female U.S. postal inspector who investigated his case raped and murdered.
Forty-nine-year-old Todd Markley, of Export, pleaded guilty in February and was set to appear before a federal judge in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Markley was targeted in a federal string operation after his name showed up on a customer list of a Los Angeles-based distributor of child pornography that was raided in 2006. Markley was charged after he requested an emailed catalog of DVDs in May 2011, and in February 2012, he ordered two videos from the fake porn business.
Markley was subsequently charged with emailing an expletive-filled diatribe in May 2012 to U.S. Postal Inspector Karen Yoakum, who helped search his home.
