Pa. Man Convicted Of Threatening Sarah Palin Sentenced To 2 Years In Jail For Probation Violation
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A 21-year-old Pennsylvania man convicted of harassing Sarah Palin's Alaska lawyers has been sentenced to two years in prison for a probation violation.
Shawn Christy of McAdoo, Pa., received credit for time already served.
His sentence Wednesday also included one year supervised release on a guilty plea of running from federal authorities in Pennsylvania. Christy was arrested in November for leaving a community re-entry facility before completing his six-month term there.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Retta-Rae Randall in Anchorage says Christy has almost a year left to serve.
Christy was sentenced last year to five years' probation after he and his father pleaded guilty to making harassing phone calls to Palin's attorneys.
The Christys were accused of threatening the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate and her attorneys.
