Pa. Man Charged With Traveling To Meet Minor
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Federal prosecutors in Delaware have charged a Pennsylvania man with traveling to meeting someone he believed to be a 14-year-old girl for sex.
Thirty-nine-year-old Michael J. Barndt of Sellersville, Pa. was charged Wednesday in a criminal complaint with attempted enticement and coercion of a minor and attempted transfer of obscene matter to a minor.
Prosecutors say Brandt, a cook in Pennsylvania who also works at a summer camp, posted an ad on craigslist.com expressing interest in a teenage fantasy liaison. An undercover investigator with Homeland Security responded, pretending to be a 14-year-old girl.
Authorities say Brandt traveled to nearby Concord Mall to meet the girl, and was arrested.
