Overnight Crashes Kill 1, Injure At Least 11

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police in Philadelphia, Montgomery County and Chester County are investigating four separate accidents that took the life of one person and left at least 11 people injured.
A police officer, responding to a 911, call around 3 a.m. lost control of his patrol car and flipped over at East Haines and Crittendon Streets in Germantown.
The officer was listed in good condition with very minor, non-life threatening injuries at Einstein Medical Center. He has been released.
A one car crash along Old Kennett Pike in Kennett Square, Chester County claimed one life and sent a second person to the hospital, Sunday morning.
Police say the driver, 18-year-old Kristen Felkowski of Wilmington, lost control while trying to drive around a curve, ran off the roadway and struck a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to A.I. Dupont Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
People had to be extricated by North Penn Fire Company rescue crews in Lower Gwynedd Township, Montgomery County when two cars collided head-on Sunday morning.
The crash took place along Rt. 202 near Swedesford Road. Rt. 202, near the crash scene, was closed for several hours.
One person was flown to Abington Hospital in critical condition, two people were taken to Lansdale Hospital in critical condition and two more people were transported to Lansdale Hospital with minor injuries. Police are still investigating.
Four people were injured around 2:30 a.m. when two cars collided near Broad Street and Ridge Avenue in North Philadelphia.
Three people have been admitted for treatment to Hahnemann University Hospital and one person is under treatment at Temple University Hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
