Organization Aims To Bring More Creativity Out Of Philadelphia's Youth
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An organization that works to engage young people in creative expression is celebrating its tenth anniversary with a name change and an event for families on Sunday.
The former Arts and Spirituality Center in University City has spent the past decade, working in schools, congregations and organizations, engaging young people in reflection and creative expression in an effort to foster thriving and peaceful communities throughout Philadelphia. Susan Teegan Case is the founder and executive director.
"We choose our new name - Artwell - as it speaks to the spirit and depth of our work and the well-being that it grows exponentially when people engage in our programs and have a chance to discover and honor their strengths and those of others," said Case.
There's an Artwell 10th anniversary celebration Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Philadelphia Zoo. Young people will engage in creative activities inspired by the animals surrounding them.
