Oprah Answers Local Man's Tweet; Donates Autographed Louboutins To Charity

By Syma Chowdhry

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A local man tweets to talk show queen Oprah Winfrey on Twitter to help raise money for a children's charity.

To his surprise – she responds!

"I'm a huge fan and I thought, 'why not?' Everyone knows her it could be something great that could raise a lot of money," said Ryan McCabe.

McCabe is a fan of Oprah and met her last year.  Unfortunately, he was a little star struck.

"I don't remember it. I didn't say a word to her. I was so scared and so excited," he said.

Ryan took a picture with Oprah and made this photo his profile picture on Twitter.

That came in handy when he needed to reach out to the media mogul.

He works for a company that raises money every year for St. Jude Children's Hospital.

This year – he wanted to take the fundraising a "step" further.

"Who is going to raise the most money? Who is going to come up with the most creative thing to do?" he said.

McCabe tweeted Oprah asking if she can send him something autographed to auction off.

"Never thought in a millions years that she would respond. But she did. It was like 1 a.m. in the morning.  I was like, 'Ohh Oprah just tweeted me,'" said McCabe.

Her response?  "A bag or shoes better?"

Between promoting her new movie and making appearances, Oprah's team made time to ship her shoes.

"Christian Louboutins – I was thrilled," Ryan McCabe said.

The designer shoes retail for about $800.  The heels have been autographed by Oprah Winfrey – all with the hope of raising money for a good cause.

"They look like they've been worn maybe once, there are no scuffs or anything," he said.

Ryan posted them on eBay and got different stars from different shows on Oprah's network to retweet his posts.

But the shoes weren't getting enough buzz on eBay, so now they are being auctioned off on CharityBuzz.com.

"The shoes themselves are worth a lot so I am hoping with her autograph it can be something great," he said.

The auction has started on Charity Buzz Tuesday and will last for three weeks.
