Online Fundraising For Victims of Building Collapse Gets Rolling

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Community efforts are already underway to help raise money for the victims of Wednesday's devastating building collapse in center city (see related stories).
The Philly DoGooder group has launched an online "crowdfunding" campaign on Rally.org. The goal is to raise $12,000 in 30 days -- $2,000 for each family of the six victims who died in the collapse.
"It's such an unexpected tragedy to these families," says Philly DoGooder co-founder David Gloss, who says the effort was launched on Thursday and is catching on like wildfire through social media. They raised $1,000 within the first 24 hours.
"We have over 50 people who have already contributed to the campaign -- it keeps rising every single second," Gloss says. "Our goal is to have them, once they have a contribution, to share it to the network."
He says amounts raised over the $12,000 goal will go to the Salvation Army. To donate go to rally.org/PhillyBuildingCollapse.
