One Suspect Arrested For Violent Hammer Attack; One Remains On The Loose
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police in Philadelphia have arrested one suspect in connection with a violent hammer attack.
On Nov. 27, a 58-year-old man who worked at Kin Laundromat on E Moyamensing Avenue was attacked by two males who struck him on the head with a hammer (see previous story).
The men then fled with about $700 from a filing cabinet.
One of the suspects, Zafiya Stringfield, was arrested after police reviewed surveillance footage from the scene of the crime.
Stringfield is charged with Aggravated Assault, Robbery and related charges.
Another suspect remains on the loose. He's described as a black male who was wearing a mask, gloves, dark-colored overalls and a hooded sweatshirt.
The victim was transported to Jefferson University Hospital, where he required two staples to close the wound in his head.
