One Philadelphia Sports Owner On Forbes 400 Richest List: Josh Harris

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Of the big four professional sports teams in Philadelphia, the Sixers have had the least playoff success in the last decade. The team has taken steps to try and rebuild a winner over the last few months, but the on-court product in recent years has left a lot to be desired.
If Sixers majority owner Josh Harris is able to have the same kind of success on the court as he has had financially, they'll be in great shape.
Forbes magazine released the "Forbes 400," on Monday, which lists the 400 richest people in America. There were 32 sports owners on the list, but the lone Philadelphia representative is Harris.
Harris, 48 years old, ranks 222 on the list with a net worth of $2.5 billion. The Sixers of course are not his main source of income, though the team's value has nearly doubled in the two years he's owned it, according to some reports. Harris recently completed the purchase of another undervalued sports franchise, the New Jersey Devils, usually considered the Flyers' second biggest rival next to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
A Sixers minority owners also appears on the list, Bryn Mawr's Michael Rubin comes in at #243 with a net worth of $2.3 billion.
The richest sports owner in the United States also owns more than one team, as Paul Allen, with a net worth of $15.8 billion, owns both the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers.
14 NFL owners made the list, 12 NBA owners, four NHL owners, and just two MLB owners.
Topping the list is MIcrosoft owner Bill Gates, at a net worth of $72 billion.
