Man Comes Forward In Fatal Winslow Township Hit-Run
WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) - Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk and Winslow Police Chief Robert Stimelski announced today that an individual has come forward to take responsibility for the tragic event during the early morning hours of the first day of the New Year.
On January 1, 2011 between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. Stacy Casalnova (photo), of Williamstown, NJ and her friend, Sean Scocca, of Sicklerville, NJ were walking home from a nearby establishment when they were both struck by a hit and run motor vehicle.
Casalnova was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Scocca is in critical, but stable condition at Cooper Hospital.
In the late afternoon of the first day of the New Year, Sam Miles of Williamstown, New Jersey voluntarily surrendered at the Monroe Twp., New Jersey police department.
Mr. Miles has been charged and processed with 2nd degree leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, resulting in a fatality. His bail has been set at $50,000 which was posted at the police department. The investigation is ongoing.
