One Dead, One Injured In Separate Shootings In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Two people were shot in separate, unrelated shootings in Philadelphia overnight.

Police say one man dead after shots rang out near 5th and Washington Streets in South Philadelphia around 2 a.m. Detectives say a 20-year old man suffered a bullet wound to the chest.

He was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police have no motive or suspects.

And in the Germantown section, unidentified man was robbed and shot while walking near the intersection of Chelton and Chew Avenues at about 2 a.m.

Police say the victim is hospitalized and listed in stable condition. The gunman made off with $6 from the victim and remains at large.
