One Dead, One Critical In I-95 Crash In Delaware County
ESSINGTON, Pa. (CBS) -- One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a two car crash along I-95 in Delaware County early Saturday morning.
The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95, approaching the exit to route 420 in Tinicum Township.
State police say a 26-year-old man from Broomall was driving in the left lane, on a right curve, when he lost control of his car and it started to spin clockwise. The vehicle went across all the lanes and crashed into a car that was stopped on the shoulder of the highway.
The driver of that vehicle, a 67-year-old man from Boyertown, died at the scene.
Police say both cars ended up off the road. The vehicle that spun out flipped upside down. Police say the diver of that car was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in critical condition.
The victims were not immediately identified.
State Police at the Media Barracks are investigating the crash and ask anyone who may have seen it to give them a call at 484-840-1000.
