On-Field 'Red Man' Sentenced To 80 Hours Community Service

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Phillies, and possible 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia,' fan who ran on the field at Citizens Bank Park during a game wearing a red spandex bodysuit has been sentenced to community service.

On Thursday, Sean Hagan, the 17-year-old "Red Man," was sentenced to serve 80 hours of community service at Saint John's Hospice for his on-field antics.

Hagan's run as "Red Man" during a September 20th Phillies home game against the Atlanta Braves came to an end when Braves outfielder Matt Diaz tripped the teen, assisting police in bringing him under arrest.

Hagan's excursion grabbed national headlines because of his red bodysuit, but failed to generate as much hype as a May incident in which police at the ballpark chased 17-year-old Steve Consalvi after he ran onto the field. He was zapped with a Taser by a police officer before being led off the field.

While leaving the courthouse Hagan spoke with KYW:

"I just want to say I apologize. It was pretty immature," said Hagan, a senior at Father Judge High School. "I did have intentions of going on the field, so it was planned."

His mom, Barbara, says they were disappointed he made the 'red man' appearance, but Sean realizes now that there are consequences:

"He made an error. Otherwise, he's a good kid."

Hagan was initially arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, defiant trespass and disrupting meetings, according to police.
