Olympic Soccer Medalist Carli Lloyd Shares Life Lessons With South Jersey Campers

MEDFORD, N.J. (CBS) -- Olympics gold medalist Carli Lloyd -- a Delran, NJ native who is a member of the US Women's Soccer Team -- today took time out of her busy training schedule for the upcoming London Games to talk with children at the JCC Camp in Medford, NJ.
The kids were thrilled, and camp director Aaron Greenberg thinks the visit was educational as well.
"One of the things we do at camp is teach the kids how to be good people as well as to have a good time," he says, "and Carli is coming with a message (that) not only is it hard work but she also enjoys what she is doing."
Nine-year-old Sydney thought Carli Lloyd's presentation was "cool." Why?
"Because she's a soccer player and I play soccer."
"I think this is what it is all about," said Lloyd afterward. "It's giving back to the community, it's being a live role model. I wish I had somebody that I could have looked up to as a role model when I was playing at a younger age."
The Summer Olympics begin July 27th.
