Olney Woman Sexually Assaulted While Young Children Slept Upstairs

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An Olney woman told police she was sexually assaulted in her own living room with her children sleeping upstairs.

The woman spoke exclusively to Eyewitness News.

"He had my hands tied to my ankles. When he had tied my ankles, he tied it together," the victim said.

Police were called to the victim's home just after 1am Friday. She told Eyewitness News, she had a quick errand to run at a nearby 7-Eleven store when she was confronted by a man she did not know. The said the man asked her for the time and she kept walking. She said she ran into the store and tried to rush home when the man followed her home. She said the man threatened to harm her if she said anything and then asked if she was home alone. Her 3 children, ages 12, 10 and 5, were home but she said she lied, praying her youngest was asleep.

"I was just hoping that she didn't come downstairs or make noise or anything because I didn't tell him I had kids upstairs," the victim said.

Bound and gagged, the victim said she was sexually assaulted with her eyes also covered.

"I didn't really look at him clearly in the face. It was like a glimpse," the victim said.

Police are reviewing surveillance video from the 7-Eleven to see what, if anything, was caught on camera. The victim said she did not know her attacker but wonders if he had been watching her.

"For him to say 'me and my son', all he kept saying was, 'you wouldn't want nothing to happen to you and your son' and I told the cops that," the victim said.

The victim also told police, before running away, her attacker used her cell phone to call 9-1-1.

Police said the investigation is continuing. The attacker is described to be "heavy set" who at the time of the attack was wearing a black baseball cap, tan jacket and grey sweatpants.
