Older Brother Accused In SEPTA El Shooting Will Stand Trial

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One of two West Philadelphia brothers accused in a double shooting at a stop on the SEPTA Market-Frankford EL last month will stand trial.
Currently, he remains jailed on $5 million bail. Charges were previously dropped against the defendant's younger brother.
The two men who were wounded testified that the alleged shooter, 18-year-old Matthew Early, was not the guy mouthing off after a 76ers game. His 17-year-old brother, Eric, was doing most of the trash talking of the two, who are Chicago Bulls fans.
During separate appearances on the witness stand, Tremine Fortune and Avery Moore indicated the older brother even told the younger brother to "cool it." But then, Moore recalled Matthew Early telling his younger brother, "I got a bullet for each of them."
When the train stopped at 46th Street, surveillance video shows the two brothers exiting the train. One, identified by the witnesses as Matthew, spun around, pulled a gun out and fired one shot into the car. The single bullet tore through Fortune's abdomen and lodged in Moore's leg.
Early faces attempted murder and aggravated assault charges.
