Officials Reunite Dogs With Owner After Finding Them Trapped In Abandoned Delco Home

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) -- A Justice Rescue Agent, working with Chester Police, found and saved two dogs kept locked, perhaps for as long as a week, inside a cold, filthy abandoned house in Chester.
The Agent for the non-profit animal rescue agency says the two dogs, Pit Bulls named Tank and Abby, had no food or water.
It's believed the two dogs were abducted from a nearby street after they wandered away from their owner's home.
The owner, Damian McIlhenney, told CBS 3's Walt Hunter, he had searched around the clock, using social media, and walking the streets, desperately trying to find his two pets.
Friday the search came to a happy ending when Animal Rescue got a tip the dogs might be in the abandoned home.
The Agent and police, working together for several hours, freed the trapped dogs and within hours they were reunited with their grateful owner.
Animal Rescue says while no one has been criminally charged, it's likely the dogs were taken to be used as guards to protect drug dealers or to be trained to become part of a vicious, dog-fighting ring.
The dogs, other than losing some weight, suffered no apparent ill effects from their ordeal.
