Officials Investigating Fire At Wilmington Sub Shop
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – Officials are investigating a fire at a sub shop in Wilmington.
The fire broke out around 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday at the Village Sub Shop at 20th and North Market Street in Wilmington.
When units arrived at the scene, they found flames on the roof of the building.
Two shop workers were evacuated, but one attempted to go back inside and fight the fire with an extinguisher; he was evaluated for smoke inhalation but refused EMS service.
The blaze was placed under control around 10:12 a.m. and the building has been closed due to damage.
Fire officials say the blaze appears to have started in the kitchen exhaust system, but an investigation is ongoing.
