Officials: Man's Body Found On Top Of SEPTA Train Near Girard Station

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Officials are investigating after the body of a man was found on top of a SEPTA train in Fishtown. SEPTA confirms to CBS3 the deceased body was found on top of a train on the Market-Frankford Line near Girard Station, just after 12 p.m.

Philadelphia police are assisting SEPTA police with the investigation.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video to determine how the body got on top of the train.

It's not yet known how the man died.

SEPTA says passengers are to board the trains on the westbound platforms between Berks and Spring Garden Stations -- skipping Girard Station due to the investigation.

Shuttle buses are operating from Spring Garden to Berks Stations in both directions.

Riders should expect delays.
