Off-Duty Philadelphia Police Officer Struck In Kensington Hit-Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia police are looking for the driver and a passenger who were in a dark-colored sedan which they say struck an off-duty police officer early Wednesday morning in the city's Kensington section.
Police believe it was a four-door, 2010 vehicle, possibly a Ford, which struck off-duty officer Michael Brady in the 2300 block of East Cumberland Street near Cedar Street around 2 a.m.
Police have video of the vehicle coming to a stop about a block-and-a-half from where the 28-year-old officer was hit. They say the video shows a woman getting out of the passenger side, and then getting back in and the car pulled away.
"We're pretty confident that the people knew that they hit somebody at that location, examined the damage to the car and left that person there and left the scene of the crash," Captain John Wilczynski said.
Police say the car should have hood damage and possibly a cracked windshield. There is also a windshield wiper blade assembly that was recovered at the scene. The driver was last seen traveling east on Cumberland Street towards Aramingo Avenue.
Brady suffered head injuries and is expected to recover.
Wilczynski says he was out at a local bar with friends, and was walking home and crossed the street in the middle of the block when he was hit by the car.
