Off-Duty Officer Involved In West Philadelphia Shooting
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – An off-duty police officer from Chester, Pennsylvania was involved in a shooting that occurred in West Philadelphia.
According to police, after a fight broke out in the middle of the street on 52nd and Locust Streets the off-duty officer noticed someone in the crowd hand the suspect a gun.
After shots were fired by the suspect, the off-duty officer discharged his weapon; no one was hit, says police.
The shooting and the person that provided the gun are in custody. The victim, a 20-year-old Victor Rodriguez, was shot once in the head and pronounced dead at
Hahnemann University Hospital.
