President Obama Returns To Philly To Rally Voters

PHILADELPHIA(CBS) – President Obama made a quick stop in Philadelphia, Saturday, to rally volunteers for a get-out-the-vote effort.

The president got a rock star reception at Temple. Democrats running for governor and senate in Pennsylvania are hoping to turn the enthusiasm for president Obama that persists here into a high voter turn-out-- something that is critical if they are going to win in the state.

The President gave volunteers their marching orders:

"Coming to a rally that's not the hard part. What I need this weekend is 20,000 doors knocked on by all the volunteers her today. Is that something you think you can do? 20,000?"

About 1,500 volunteers in attendance picked up packets after the president's brief remarks and fanned out to canvas Philadelphia.

Well, not everyone did. This morning Tea Party members gathered at 16th and Berks, across the street from where President Obama spoke at Temple University.

"I'm part of the tea party and I wanted to hear President Obama speak and I'm vehemently against Obama care and want to repeal it," said one attendee.
