Obama Posters Aim To Rekindle '08 Spirit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A new election poster touting President Obama, whose name doesn't appear on the ballot next Tuesday, is showing up across Center City.

The large poster is taped to light stands and utility poles surrounding City Hall and other nearby locations.

On the left half, President Obama is pictured at work at his desk in the Oval Office. On the right half are the words "Support Obama, Vote Tuesday, Nov. 2."

Randall Miller is a political science professor at St. Joseph's University. He says the poster is aimed at trying to get Democrats out to the polls:

"This is really the continuation of 2008, that the change is underway but it needs sustained effort. And, again, that image of him working away in the Oval Office is a reminder that there is sustained efforts, but it cannot go on without you."

Miller says Democrats know Obama is popular in Philadelphia and he has been here twice, with a third appearance set for Saturday.

Miller says Democrats are hoping Obama's image and campaign stops will help bring their voters out next Tuesday.
