Obama Campaign Harnesses Photo-Sharing To Invigorate Young Voters

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Obama re-election campaign has begun a new social media effort that not only solicits your vote, but also your photos.
In an effort to motivate the approximately 15 million new, young voters, President Obama's campaign has unveiled "For All," via social media.
"We want to make sure that we get the word out in a way that young people are connecting," says Obama campaign national deputy director, Michael Blake, "and a lot of people are not sitting behind their computer nowadays. A lot of people are not sitting in front of a TV, but they may be hanging on that iPhone or that Blackberry or that Android, and so let's put it out in a way that people connect to us," he tells KYW Newsradio.
So how does it work?
"Here's what you do," Blake explains. "First, write on you hand what four years of progress means to you. Second, we encourage people to place your hand over your heart and take a quick smartphone picture. And third, post it on Facebook or Instagram and use the hashtag #FORALL so that more people can understand how President Obama is standing up for them."
The Mitt Romney Instagram page shows 36,000 followers, versus 1.4 million for President Obama.
