Not All Businesses Closed On Christmas Day

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ - Working on Christmas still meant having a happy holiday for staff at the Pandora Diner on Routes 206 and 537.
"It's fun cause I get to be with my work family and I get to see all the people who come out and have breakfast with us," says server Meredith Hanson.
The Diner was open for breakfast and lunch, but closed by 3 p.m. so employees could spend part of the Christmas Day at home.
"I have numerous calls cause they want me to open for dinner but we got to give my employees off for the holiday," says owner Saban Pamuk.
Restaurants, liquor stores, gas stations, convenient stores, coffee shops and movie theaters are among the businesses that stay open, and in some cases, are very busy on Christmas.
The AMC Loews Cherry Hill 24 had a full parking lot around 2 p.m.
"Just trying to get away from all the madness. Got my mother and grandmother cooking up some dinner so I'm here with my brother just trying to spend some time with him," says Kurt Honas.
The hard work by those in service jobs was appreciated by customers like Arlene Levine, who stopped for lunch at the Pandora Diner with her husband.
"I think it's fabulous. We drove 45 minutes to find a diner that was open," she says.
