Northampton County Celebrates New Year By Dropping Giant Peeps Chick
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (CBS) -- You didn't have to go far to take part in some unique ways to ring in the New Year. In Bethlehem, on New Year's Eve, crowds gathered at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks to watch a giant Peeps marshmallow chick drop.
Bethlehem is, of course, home to the Just Born Quality Confections company that makes the marshmallow candy Peeps.
The replica of the candy weighed about 400 pounds and was just under 5 feet tall.
