North Philadelphia Robbery Of 81-Year-Old Woman Caught On Tape

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Officials are searching for the suspect that they say robbed an 81-year-old woman in broad daylight.

The incident occurred last Wednesday at 1 p.m. along the 1100 block of South Broad Street in the Wharton section of Philadelphia.

According to police, the suspect waited until the woman finished cashing her check and then followed her out of the building and to the 1300 block of South Juniper Street.

At that point, police say the suspect grabbed the victim, threw her to the ground and took her wallet which was hanging around her neck.

Officials say the suspect then fled on foot west on Juniper Street.

The suspect has been described as a 30-year-old black male wearing a white t-shirt, dark colored shorts and dark colored shoes.
