Delaware River Greenway Project Stalled

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An important link in the City's Delaware River front plans, currently held up in a money dispute, might yet bring people back to an area time forgot.
The plan involves Delaware Avenue, but not the part most people would know. This part runs alongside the Tioga Marine Terminal north of Allegheny Avenue until it peters out in a brownfield.
Andrew Stober of the City's Office of Transportation and Utilities says, "The overall plan is to extend Delaware Avenue for one mile to include construction of a new bridge over Frankford Creek," and under the Betsy Ross Bridge.
Stober says it'll be extra-green, "So it'll include storm water management features and it'll also serve as an important connection for the North Delaware River Greenway Trail," all the way to Bucks County.
It's hoped the extension will also ignite residential and commercial development in an essentially abandoned area.
