Norristown High Speed Line Gets Into Christmas Spirit

By Brad Segall

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A couple of SEPTA employees are doing their part to put commuters in the spirit this holiday season.

Ella Davis walked off Car 153 on the Norristown High Speed Line just after 12:30 Wednesday afternoon in Norristown. She had just ridden in a car that had been decorated to look like a candy cane and she says that made her ride to do some last-minute Christmas shopping more enjoyable.

"Oh I thought it was absolutely gorgeous. I was shocked when I walked up to the train and saw it. I've never seen it on the train before and I've been traveling with this train for about five years. I've always missed the one that has the decoration."

The car was decorated by sisters Deina McLaughlin, a 13-year SEPTA employee, and her sister Denita Birton, who has worked for the transit agency for 21 years. The vehicles are expected to remain on their routes at least through Christmas.
