No Immediate Problems For Voters In Hurricane-Ravaged Parts Of New Jersey

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) -- New Jersey elections officials were reporting no significant problems at the polls early Tuesday, even in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
It was a mad scramble to replace some 800 polling places in North Jersey that were damaged or left powerless by the Superstorm, but through consolidation and power restoration every polling place is up and running. Many moved, but they're running.
Officials at the Division of Elections were encouraging anyone with problems to contact their county election bureau. State offices were closed on Tuesday. Election Day is an official holiday.
Provisions have been made to allow for faxed or e-mailed ballots to cover the races for President, United States Senate and the two statewide ballot questions.
No immediate, serious problems were reported in South Jersey.
