No Criminal Charges Filed In Burlco Police-Involved Shooting Last Year

EDGEWATER PARK, N.J. (CBS) - A grand jury in Burlington County has declined to file charges in a police-involved shooting in September of last year.
27-year-old Tysean Fitzpatrick was indicted last week by a Burlington County grand jury on a charge of attempted theft. He had been shot during the incident in Edgewater Park by an off duty Delanco police officer.
The officer said he feared for his life after Fitzpatrick allegedly tried to run him over with his own car, which he had left running while briefly stopping at a home he was renting at the time.
A separate grand jury looked at the evidence involving the officer and decided the shooting was, in fact, justified.
