Phila. DA's Office: No Criminal Charges In Deadly Amtrak Derailment
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia District Attorney officials say they have reached a decision on whether they will charges against the man at the helm of Amtrak train 188, which derailed two years ago this week.
The crash killed eight people and injured more than 200 others.
The office says it will not charge Brandon Bostian for the May 2015 Amtrak derailment.

In a statement, officials say they worked with train experts, detectives and the National Transportation Safety Board, reviewed cell phone records and audio tapes to determine whether criminal charges would be sufficient, but they have concluded Bostian committed no crime.
Attorney Tom Klein represents some of the victims and their families and calls it a huge disappointment.
"There needs to be responsibility. You can't have a situation in public transportation where a locomotive engineer has no accountability, no responsibility."
In the DA's statement, officials say evidence doesn't rise to level of criminal intent under state law, and they would not be able to prove their case against him, beyond a reasonable doubt.
Bostian's attorney has not yet returned a request for comment.
