New Jersey Teen Who Threatened Classmates, Teachers Under Close Police Watch
MULLICA HILL, N.J. (CBS) - A Gloucester County teenager who caused quite a scare last fall will be closely watched by law enforcement until he turns 18, but he'll be able to stay with his parents through it all.
The 16-year-old student at Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill made online threats against students and teachers and falsely reported a shooting incident at a Mantua restaurant.
A Superior Court Judge has approved a plan to place the teen in an intensive supervised program, with the consent of Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean Dalton.
"He has several conditions including no unsupervised computer use, no social networking sites he can go on, he needs to get a drug and psychological evaluation and he has a 6 p.m. curfew," Dalton said.
Any violation and he goes into juvenile confinement. Dalton says he came to an agreement with the youth's attorney for two reasons: no one was hurt and this is the boy's first time in the justice system.
He has not returned to Clearview since the incident last October.
