NJ Shore Town To Stream Papal Mass
CAPE MAY, N.J., (CBS) -- The Papal Mass in Philadelphia will be broadcast live at one New Jersey shore town.
The mass will be shown live on a large screen at Cape May Convention Hall on Sunday, September 27, Mayor Edward J. Mahaney, Jr. tells CBSPhilly.
Admission will be free for this event. There will be a limit of four tickets maximum per person.
Tickets are available at the following locations: All churches located in the City of Cape May, at the City Clerk's Office on the second floor of City Hall, and at the Information/Reception Desk at Cape May Convention Hall.
Doors to Convention Hall will open for seating at 3 p.m.
At 3:30 p.m., officials say those without a ticket will be admitted to Convention Hall if any seats are still available.
Anyone with a ticket arriving at the Hall after 3:30 p.m. will be admitted only on the basis of remaining available seating.
There will be no standing room only admissions for the Mass. Convention Hall's capacity is about 800.
There will be no food or beverage sold, dispensed, or allowed in Convention Hall for the event.
The dress code is casual attire. No beach attire will be permitted.
There will be other events happening in Cape May during the papal weekend, including a showing of the movie Sister Act at 7 p.m. at Cape May Convention Hall on Friday, Sept. 25. The Philadelphia German Brass Band will perform two free concerts at 6:30 p.m. at Washington Street Mall and at 7 p.m. at Rotary Park Bandstand on Saturday, Sept. 26.
