NJ Pair Accused Of Trafficking By Prostituting 16-Year-Old Girl
WOODBURY, N.J. (CBS) – A man and woman have been charged with allegedly committing human trafficking by prostituting a 16-year-old girl whose sexual services were offered on the internet.
Levin Orr, of Glassboro, and Jennie Norcross, of Blackwood, were arrested on Tuesday after an investigation by the Major Crimes Unit of the Gloucester County's Prosecutor's Office.
According to the Gloucester County Prosecutor, both suspects are charged with committing human trafficking by "by knowingly holding, recruiting, luring, enticing, harboring, transporting or providing by any means (the 16-year-old) to engage in sexual activity while under the age of 18."
The pair is also being charged with conspiring to commit human trafficking.
Orr and Norcross are each held in default of $100,000 bail. Norcross' three children are now in custody of the New Jersey Division of Families.
"Human trafficking is a terrible crime that destroys lives and threatens the safety of our communities," said Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean F. Dalton. "I appreciate the work of our Major Crimes Unit, partnering with the Westville Police Department, in making these arrests."
